Lincoln Central Association (LCA) is
a charitable organization dedicated to improving the Chicago neighborhood
bounded by Lincoln Avenue, the former Ogden Avenue, North Avenue,
and Halsted Street. It was founded to unite people within the neighborhood
to build and maintain a secure and stable family neighborhood, to
improve the physical and social condition of the community, and to
undertake programs to foster accomplishment of those goals.
LCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2008
President (2005-2008)
Richard Rausch
Rick is serving his second term as president, his third on the Board
of Directors. He has chaired the Bauler Play lot Advisory Committee
since 1998. His goal has been to make Bauler the caliber of
play lot-park that the neighborhood deserves, creating a place for
neighbors to congregate. His experience with transforming Bauler
and with the neighbors who have helped and enjoy this neighborhood
park serves him well as a director. So does one of his hobbies:
rehabbing houses. He and his wife Gwenn have rehabbed three
houses and built their current home on the 1800 block of North Mohawk
Street. He has lived within two blocks of Bauler since 1976
(except for one “mid-life crisis when we lived in the suburbs”)
and on Mohawk since 1984. A physical therapist by training,
Rick is the administrator for a national rehab company, Physiotherapy
Associates. He owned his own practice for twelve years prior
to selling it in 1999 to Physiotherapy Associates. He has recently
completed a four-year term as President of the Illinois Physical
Therapy Association. Originally from Iowa, Rick is a 1973 graduate
of The University of Iowa. He and Gwenn have three children:
Aryn and Eric are at The University of Colorado, Boulder, and Alex
attends Latin School of Chicago.

Secretary (2007-2008)

Anne served as a director of the Bauler Play lot Advisory Committee
and saw the fruits of time spent fund-raising. Because Lincoln Central is a unique
urban area, joining the Lincoln Central Association board seemed to Anne a useful
way to help maintain and preserve the vibrancy and charm of the neighborhood.
She has lived on the 1800 block of Cleveland for nearly twenty years, twice rehabbing
an historic property to create a single-family home. Her priorities include density
and transportation issues, parks, and a range of neighborhood social events,
such as movie nights in the parks. A graduate of Barnard College and a prize-winning
poet, Anne is an independent writer, contributing regularly to local and national
publications. She and her husband Harry Dent have three school-age children.
