Community Maintenance Program
2008

Bauler Park is a tremendous asset and wonderful resource for our neighborhood.
For those of you with young children or grandchildren, it is a welcome and frequent stop. For those with school age children, the open space is a valuable sports court. For all of us, this open space adds to the beauty and vibrancy of the neighborhood.

The Park’s current appearance is attributable to the generous support of local neighbors. Over the past six years, more than $50,000 has been raised and spent for such things as new plantings, new benches, a sprinkler system, the restoration of the Wisconsin Street parkway and general maintenance which supplements the Park District’s efforts.

For 2008, the Advisory Board is attempting to raise $4,000, which will allow for new mulch around the plantings and periodic maintenance. Several plants have perished over the winter and will need to be replaced. And some areas of the park will need new plants. Our maintenance efforts will be dictated based on the funds donated. The more funds raised, the more improvements can be made. All contributions are tax deductible.

We are also very interested in having people join the Advisory Committee, as well as volunteers to help with two events this summer/fall – a movie/picnic night and a fall party. We look forward to neighbors coming out to celebrate the park! Please let us know if you are interested in helping out!
