Zoning & Planning

Lincoln Central Neighborhood Association’s zoning and planning committee was formed in 2003 to ensure an open and fair process for developers and homeowners. There are 12 members. We listen, ask questions, review plans and contact neighbors. Our decisions are then shared with Alderman Timmy Knudsen or Alderman Hopkins. We advocate for reasonable development, preservation, green space and trees.

Recently, we won preliminary landmarking of the historic Willow/Halsted Gateway; protected landmarked Yondorf Block and Hall from “overbuilding” at proposed developments to its immediate east and north; defended Howe St. neighbors from encroachment by developer of a multi-lot home; and preserved historic parsonage on 1600 block of Burling St.
